    High School

  • CJUSD honors courses are core math, English, and science courses that are designed to meet the needs of GATE students and other students who are ready and willing to tackle more rigorous curriculum. The programs are designed to increase the critical thinking, analysis, and writing skills necessary to succeed in upper level courses.

Honors programs in our district are articulated with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in the same subject areas so that the honors work will better prepare students to take these college-level courses and earn college credit while still in high school.

Honors courses are typically designed for 9th and 10th grade students.  Currently, CJUSD offers honors courses in the following areas: Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, English I, English II
