Students sitting at band recital

WELCOME

It is with great excitement that we welcome your family to our instrumental music (band) program. You will play a vital role in your child's music education and your support at home is an important part of their success.  You don't have to be musically trained to help your child in band.  Learning an instrument is a family activity.  Help your student develop a positive practice routine at home and encourage them daily as they practice their instrument.

From the beginning, treat music as a long-term commitment.  Learning a musical instrument can be difficult but rewarding and could help your student gain leadership skills, confidence, and self-esteem.  Band also helps your student learn responsibility as they practice music for performances and take care of their instrument.  Furthermore, participation in band could help raise your student's scores in other subjects.
