General Employment Information
Upon
recommendation for employment, prospective employees must provide proof required
education, licenses or certificates.
Prospective employees will be required, as a
condition of employment, to pass a pre-employment physical, a work capacity
test, a drug screening, and provide verification of a negative tuberculosis
test, that is no more than four (4) years old prior to beginning employment.
Some positions will require additional tests. The cost for these pre-employment
examinations shall be borne by the prospective employee through Payroll
deductions.
Fingerprinting is required of all new candidates
offered employment. Employment will be contingent on clearance of all
pre-employment requirements including but not limited to fingerprinting from the
Department of Justice. Prospective employees must pay the fingerprinting fee
of $45.00.
Benefit
Information
Employees working four hours or more daily are
eligible for family medical and dental benefits on a pro-rated basis; these
employees will also pay into CalPERS and Social Security.
Employees working less than four hours per day
pay into an Alternative Retirement System (ARS): APPLE.
Eight hour positions receive a $25,000 life
insurance policy provided by the District.
